http://ellunkanat.fi/en/vision/
Ellun kanat is a visionary communications agency with focus on strategy. The website and blog both have such a brave and innovative style. Ellun kanat aren’t afraid to try totally new things by throwing in some breath taking visuals, interactive content, humor and few swear words. They break the image of stiff agency.
Ellun kanat posts very actively, but still keeps the same niche and fresh take on their subject (communications). Purpose is to spread knowledge on successful communications and make it clear who they are as professionals. Posts are written by individual workers with their own name. This makes the agency more approachable.
They have also made all of their posts easy to share in social media and of course actively share blog posts in their own channels. Their posts are very popular and people share them often on Twitter.
If I would have to say something negative, I would point out the fact that there is no possibility to comment on the posts. After all blogging is based on interaction.

http://www.joro-jukka.fi/blogi.html
Jörö-Jukka is a hair salon located in Oulu. Purpose of the “blog” is to market the company trough customer reviews. This in itself is a good idea, but I wouldn’t call it a blog. The end result is also kind of fake, as all the posts/reviews are completely positive and concentrate on marketing.
Website’s and blog’s colors are unfortunately giving me a headache. I also wish someone had made the posts appearance more consistent as the writer is changing all the time. Consistency is also needed in posting activeness. There is less than one post per month.
There is no possibility to share posts easily or comment on them for further questions. But I would give points for trying out something new.
http://www.kinuskikissa.fi/
Kinuskikissa is basically a blog about baking. Kinuskikissa’s blog has been out there for nine years and it has now a huge amount of followers. Some of Kinuskikissa’s recipes have also been converted into a cookbook. Blog is written by a mom, who started out as an amateur baker.
The blog is probably so popular because there are a bunch of great recipes and instructions made by a non-confectioner to non-confectioners. So it makes you believe in your own skills as well. Help is also quickly available as all the comments are answered. Readers can easily influence into future posts subjects.
Readers have had a grand role in blog from the start, but now blog has extended into an interactive community. It’s now possible to share your own knowledge and get help from others. It’s more than a blog, but love for blogging has still stayed the same.
https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola
The wiki about Coca-Cola has two parts to it. First part is very settle and it always has an answer ready if something questionable pops up. The first part highlights good sides and doesn’t really talk about negative ones. It also provides neutral information in forms of numbers and other facts. This part has a commercial feel to it.
The second part is mainly criticism. It highlights negative sides and provides more information about company’s not so positive history. This part has a very aggressive feel to it. Both parts make you question the reliability of sources and make you think that they were written by two different people. Writers’ opinions have clearly influenced the outcome.

Why have I not never heard about Ellun kanat before? I couldn't stop reading. Really nice that they have the courage to be themselves!
ReplyDeleteKinuskikissa has the best recipes! And I really like when people write their own versions or tips to the comment section. And she comments back so it's very interactive.
Coca-Cola is good for cleaning. (I've tried it: it removes rust and cleans a toilet seat easily.) If you ask me, that should be mentioned in their wiki.
ReplyDeleteAnd as Sabrina said before, Kinuskikissa for sure has the best recipes ever!
Your blog is giving great examples of different uses of blogs and wikis.
ReplyDeleteHaha,, Ellun kanat was sure a good site! I appreciate people who are real and themselves and they seem to differentiate themselves from other agencies in a good way.
ReplyDeleteKinuskikissa is my favorite place to search for a recipe and I guess so many others think that way too.
Thank you for sharing examples of blogs that you found. Although I never heard of them, I could have a clear look about blog.
